Fantasia Says Her Full Lips, Short Hair, Full Nose Is The Reason She’s Getting So Much Negative Press

Fantasia’s soaking up all the free publicity she can get right now after the little O.D. situation. She took a moment to sit down with VIBE to tell them that she feels the only reason she is getting so much negative press is because of the color of her skin… It had nothing to do with her trying to kill herself!!!
Prior to her suicide attempt Fantasia Barrino naturally faced a barrage of negative press surrounding her affair with Antwaun Cook and the lawsuit his wife Paula filed against the former American Idol.
But does she think her African and more ethnic features had anything to do with the excessive and sometimes mean-spirited tone of the coverage she received about her personal life? Say, versus the media’s nearly mute opinions of the controversial love lives and choices of other female entertainers like Britney Spears, LeAnn Rimes or Alicia Keys?
“Yes, I do. I really feel like it does. I was on Nancy Grace, CNN, every gospel station and in every magazine and every newspaper,” she told VIBE about the scandal before her O.D. “It was on. You would have thought I was the President or something.”
Fantasia says she even believes she’s been blackballed out of red carpet coverage spreads in many popular magazines because of her looks. “They never put me in those magazines [featuring] the red carpet. Everybody there has long hair and everybody is bright-skinned, and I was like, ‘But wait a minute. They never gave me that.’ That bothered me,’” says the singer whose new album, Back To Me is in stores now. “And then I tried hard to find people to dress me and they still would not put me there [in those magazines].”
So, is Fantasia trying to say that Alicia Keys wasn’t talked about as bad??? Alicia Keys and Gabrielle Union got it all… right next to their names lies the word “Homewrecker” but we guess the difference between them and Fantasia is that they didn’t tattoo their “DIRT” on their and then try to cover it up and they didn’t try to off themselves…

KING: What do you have to say about the rumors of you being New Orleans Saints’ Reggie Bush’s rebound, immediately after his split with Kim Kardashian?
Dollicia: I have met him once or twice, but we have never hooked up. Some people wanted to play the field but I don’t do that. I haven’t seen him in a very long time.
What about his teammate, Darren Sharper? Not only were you seen leaving a restaurant with him on TMZ, the blogosphere ran rampant that Sharper and Bush were literally fighting over you.
The Darren and Reggie thing was kind of crazy. That’s just a rumor. A friend of mine introduced us because they thought it would be a good match. When he came to L.A. it was actually one of our first dinners, unfortunately.
Dollicia goes on to say that it was unfortunate because the blogs compare her to Kim Kardashian “the Queen of media” as a “younger hotter version.”
SMH. Seriously?
Doll then explains Kim is considered the Queen of media because she doesn’t sing or act but “she’s always on the blogs”.
But that’s just where the darts start. Things get much dicier when she speaks directly to the comparison:
I can see the comparison; we have similar shaped bodies, very curvy. But we’re two different women. I’m a mother, so I can never be famous for leaking a sex tape.
Crazy right? She really took it there.
Dollicia then tried to clean up her comments by saying:
I’m not knocking what she did; she really took the negative and made it into a positive. I’m just saying there’s a huge difference between us. I’ll stay the Queen of talent and acting, but as far as being the Queen of who I’m dating and being in the media all the time; she can stay the Queen of that.
HOLY SH*T! Kim are you listening? Them sounds like fighting words!!!
Is she right? Is Kim really the Queen of who she’s dating and being in the media for no reason? Or is Dollicia just jealous she doesn’t get as much attention?

“For me, it was being kind of at a flat line with urban music and wanting something different,” she explains. “I went into the studio and when I did ‘When Love Takes Over’, it was easy to do it – it was almost like it happened before me in spirit and I walked right into it. And then with ‘Commander’, it was just easy so I knew I couldn’t be afraid of this direction, and I wasn’t going to let the thoughts and opinions of others make me afraid to go in this direction, in a sense that when you’re urban you should just be urban. No, no!” She shakes her head. “Nobody puts me in a box!”
On Constantly Being Compared to Beyonce:
“People can’t think of anything more intelligent than to compare,” she frowns. “And that’s only natural, I understand. That’s just the way the industry is, so you find a way to make things your own. But even though this sound sounds like nothing she’s done, people are going to find something to say. ” Does it bother her? “No,” she says simply. “I think it’s important to know who you are and if you don’t, you’re gonna let people dictate who you are. I think that it’s not what people want it to be, and people will continue to make up stories. But I’ll give people a reason not to compare us with this record. ”
