Diggy Simmons Is A Top 5 Finalist For Breakthrough MC + Drake Hits A Milestone + Young Buck Says 50 Cent Is Destroying His Career

Ya boy Diggy Simmons is making more big moves.  Diggy is a top-5 finalist for hottest breakthrough MC of 2010.  The deets on this plus how Young Buck says 50 Cent is ruining his career when you read on…

<!–break–>

Diggy was one of the top vote getters in the MTV.com poll for top-5 hottest breakthrough MCs of 2010.  The winner will be revealed this Sunday at Noon on MTV’s Sucker Free Summit.

Check out this interview of Diggy where he talks about his music, the critics and what got him into the game.

He is just a little cutie!  I think he’s gonna make it big!  What do you guys think?

A special congratulations goes out to Drake who’s album has gone platinum.  He sent a special thanks to his fans via his twitter page.

Even with a leaked album he was still able to go platinum….and this is his first album.  Kudos to Drake

Young Buck is out there saying that his former friend and group-mate 50 Cent is trying to kill his career.  Buck said that 50 uses contractual agreements to stop him from recording new music as well as recording with other artists.

Young Buck recently had an interivew with Nashville Scene where he talked about it all.  Here are some excerpts from the interview:

His reaction, being so harsh, is to basically stall me out to a position where I lose everything, to where my numbers drop.  Because if you don’t have a new product out, then you can’t go get the big dollar for your shows. [He wants] to pretty much destroy my life from a silent-sided way of doing things. That’s his angle, and my contracts allow him to be able to do that.

He also says that he is still in high demand but is unable to even work with other artists.

The problem is, I go to be a feature on their hit record, and then they have to go to 50 Cent to clear me on the record, and he says, ‘No.’ And they’re looking like, ‘Well, damn’ — cause if it wasn’t for that I would probably be on every record that’s out right now, cause everybody and their mama reaches out and gives me support.

While still under contract with 50, Young Buck has tried to keep his career going by releasing several mixtapes and his Young Buck Foundation will host a celebrity all-star weekend in August to raise money for flood victims and children who need school supplies.

That’s gotta be tough for Young Buck.  Hopefully once his contract runs out he can get back on his feet.

50 Cent May Cancel Album + Ludacris Gives Back

So it looks like 50 Cent’s Black Magic album may never come to life.  Why he’s thinking about cancelling his album and what Ludacris did to give back when you read on.

<!–break–>

Black Magic was supposed to be 50′s fifth album, but after recording some tracks overseas as well as in the states he’s considering cancelling the album.

50 talks about his album in an interview with Rolling Stone Brasil and why he wants to cancel it.

I’ve written an album that’s called Black Magic, but I am not sure it will be my next album.  Since I’ve made it back to America after recording in the UK and different territories since I was on the road, I started writing different material that don’t quite fit that concept.

He also added:

Black Magic had a different style to it, a different vibe. I was playing with different song structures, music from different genres like rock music. The way rock music allows the energy to decrease and then comeback to high energy..i was getting music that had that kind of vibe to it. I did some things that were a little dance inspired, the tempo was higher. Just playing with a lot of things.

Since, I got back, I’ve been writing things that don’t fit that [concept].

He compared his album to Eminem’s Relapse 2 album that never came out and instead he made Recovery.

To give you an example, Eminem’s Recovery album. He had Relapse and Relapse 2 and I recorded for him on part two but because I was on tour with him during Recovery, we didn’t get a chance to work together on that album but he re-wrote the album.

Here’s a video of the full interview here:

Whatever you put out Fif, I just hope it’s good.

In celebrity do-gooder news, Ludacris along with a bunch of other celebs gathered in LA this weekend to raise awareness for children who suffer from diabetes.

The event had stars like Luda, Ving Rhames and Tommy "Tiny" Lister teach the community the importance of personal health as well as going to the doctor regularly.

The weekend started off with a free sports clinic with NFL stars such as Dwight Freeney of the Indianappolis Colts and DeSean Jackson of the Philadelphia Eagles.  Luda was the star of the weekend when he did an exclusive performance at the Nokia Club.

Ludacris was also honored with the Developing Options Humanitarian Award for his support of community children.

Kudos to Luda.  I love seeing celebs give back.  Helping out the community is always FABULOUS.

Tony Yayo “Pass The Patron Video” And Comments On 50 Cent Concert Attack + Vh1′s Hot Wings Arrested

Tony Yayo has a video out for his single Pass The Patron and we have it right here for you.  He also speaks out on a fan being attacked at a recent show.  The deets on that plus why Hot Wings was arrested when you read on.

<!–break–>

Videos have been circulating the web of 50 getting assaulted by a fan at a concert in Brazil and then security in return beats up the fan.  Yayo says it’s not nearly as bad as the video makes it seem and it was just an over excited fan.

Yayo tells MTV News:

It was just a fan — he got a little carried away, a little happy.  People make it seem like he got beat down real, real bad.  He didn’t get beat down bad — he just got tackled, taken off the stage and the show [went] on.

Here’s a video of the incident in case you missed it.  The attack happens at the 1:45 mark.

It looked a little rough but I’m glad no one was hurt.

And here’s Yayo’s video for Pass The Patron

Your girl Hot Wings from Vh1′s Real Chance at Love is currently doing time in a DC jail.  The reality star, who’s real name is Brittany Marshall is doing time for an assault charge.

I guess she had beef with more people than groupie Kat Stacks and now one of them has caught up with her.  We’ll see what happens with this.

50 Cent Calls Diddy A B*tch + Angela Bassett & Romeo Gear Up For New Movie Together

Diddy was recorded throwing possible shots at 50 Cent after the BET Awards and 50 just wouldn’t be 50 if he didn’t respond. He called Diddy a b*tch and took all sorts of shots at him.

The interview and info about Lil Romeo and Angela Bassett‘s new movie when you read on…

<!–break–>

During an interview on Shade 45 satellite radio, 50 went in on the King of Ciroc:

“Diddy, well, the thing about it is, Puffy’s like a b*tch,” said 50 during the interview. “To describe Puffy in one word is a ‘b*tch.’ Right? Puffy wants to be the hot b*tch in the group.”

“You know how you see a hot b*tch — I know it sounds kinda harsh but I’ll explain my statement,” continued Fif. “You know how an ugly b*tch always has pretty friends? That’s how he’s built his group. He wants to be the hot b*tch in the group. He wants to make sure he gets all the attention. He wants to make sure the n*ggas wanna holla at him.”

50 said he’s taking it easy on Sir Diddy this time around though because he’s not even sure he was talking about him. “It’s not even open season on Diddy, I don’t know who he was talking about, he didn’t say my name.”

There’s a chance that all this hostility started because of Diddy’s new affiliation with 50’s nemesis Rick Rozay, formerly Rick Ross. We all know 50 does beef well so this could get interesting…

In lighter news, not so lil Romeo has signed on to do a movie alongside the fabulous Mrs. Angela Bassett. The movie, coming out under Columbia Pictures, is a comedy called Jump the Broom, centered around two black families that clash on a weekend trip to Martha’s Vineyard.

Romeo will star as Sebastion, a senior at Yale who falls for a girl from the rival family. The movie will be directed by Salim Akil (Mara Brock Akil of "The Game’s" husband) and is set to shoot in Novia Scotia this summer.

It’s great to see a movie about black people who are doing well for themselves. This could be good…

Ron Artest Gives Bossip Details On New Jawn “Champions” And On Collaborating With Eminem, 50 Cent And The Game…

Ron Artest Bossip Interview

Ron Artest chopped it up with Bossip.com in an exclusive interview about his new jawn “Champions” featuring T-Pain. Ron is not new to the rap game, he’s been doing his thing for the past ten years and now has his first collabo with T-Pain. He says:

“I’m like one of the only artists with a big name that’s never collabo’d with anybody.”

Pop the Top for Bossip’s Ron Artest Interview…

Bossip: Where did you find the inspiration to write “Champions”???

Ron Artest: I wrote it a year ago. Me and my man Haze did a song called “One Night” and it was kind of a club song and after that song we were just in the studio playing around and my man Brisk was on the organ and Haze just kept saying “Moment of silence for the champions”. Right from then we just created that song that night, it was like a 20 hour day for 2 songs. So we saved it, I wanted to put it out right away but everybody was like “Just save it, save it” so we saved it and the rest is history.

Bossip: Is there a video coming soon???

Ron Artest: We’ve been thinking about it. Actually what happened, it was so crazy because I didn’t expect it to get so much feedback that fast. I like to do a lot of Youtube things, I like to do videos and put them up on Youtube because I’m not on a major label. So, we put the record out and it got a lot of hits on Youtube and then we put a sick video out and it got a bunch of views. Everyone is calling it the official video because we put it out right away, but that’s not the official video. So I don’t know if I’m going to do for that, we got the remix with T-Pain. I might just do the video for the T-Pain version, but I’m trying to get 2 other rappers on it also, we’ll see what happens with that but if I can get 2 rappers on there we’ll do a video. If not, I’m just going to go on the my next single and start pushing it through on the internet.

Bossip: Which rappers would you want to collaborate with for the record???

Ron Artest: I think it would be dope, when I first heard the original version I wanted Eminem to do the hook. I just thought him in his lane and me in my lane. We’re more on the emotional rollercoaster type side as far as he speaks through his music and I speak through my basketball type thing. I think that would have been dope. After that, I was thinking either Game or 50 on the record. I think that would be dope because what I’m trying to do with this analogy thing with my game, I just thought getting The Game and 50 Cent… that would be crazy.

Bossip: The three of you in the same room, that would be very interesting.

Ron Artest: That would be crazy, but everybody has different views, so we’ll see what happens.

Bossip: So how did you hook up with T-Pain for the remix???

Ron Artest: Polow da Don hooked it up, Polow’s my man, he told me he could get T-Pain on the record. We performed one night in LA, it was like a Wednesday and I get back at like 4 in the morning and Polow calls me at like 4:30am like “You gotta hear this record, you gotta hear this record” and then I heard it with T-Pain and almost fell out my bed. That’s the first time I got a record with a major artist, so the record is dope. We performed it in LA, me and T-Pain, so the record is out right now and the show is all over the internet, so I’m hoping we get a chance to clear that record because it’s like the biggest record I’ve ever had and I need a break like that. I’m like one of the only artists with a big name that’s never collabo’d with anybody, sort of like when Jamie Fox collabo’d with Twista, Drake and Lil Wayne just to get that push and maybe T-Pain can get that record through and help me.

Bossip: If your rap career ends up taking off, would you let basketball go or try to do both???

Ron Artest: I think I can do both, I’ve been doing both for like the last 10 years. When I started 10 years ago obviously I wasn’t good at all. I’m getting better now, 10 years ago I was horrible but I still loved it. I used to make the worst records that a man can make, but I had so much fun… For now I think I can do both, I always record during the season anyway. My goal is if I ever get good momentum with the music. I’m definitely dropping an album this August so I can perform in September, I would drop an album during the season as like a season album, I probably wouldn’t have time to promote it until the summertime.

Bossip: Seems like it would be a little hard with your schedule. Do you hope to get signed to a major???

Ron Artest: I’m hoping to get partnered with a major. I think right now is the time, we just won a championship and being one of the more colorful characters not only in basketball but probably all entertainment, I guess I’m having that buzz and this is the first time I’ve got so many hits on my record, I got almost a million hits on Youtube total with different people putting the songs up. Probably right now is the time… I really can’t wait until my buzz dies down, that’s when I’m going to try to drop another single, I’m just trying to see what artist I’m going to do it with.

Bossip: Do you think people will be able to really take you seriously when it comes to rap seeing that you play in the NBA??? You can’t rap about drugs or hustlin’.

Ron Artest: I think people know I’ve been rapping for the last 5 years, a lot of underground people know I’ve been rapping for 10 years and then if you see me on TV you probably know I’m one of the truest entertainer athletes that’s most true to his neighborhood. When you got the biggest projects in America backing you, that says enough right there. I don’t really have to rap about struggle, you just have to rap about what you’re thinking and that’s it. It’s not like I’m struggling now, but I got songs where I’m rapping about balling or about the club and life and cars and all that stuff. Real life. I got songs rapping about how I grew up, how my man passed away, how my friends are in jail and dying and stuff like that. I got songs about everything, I got songs about everything that’s in my life, I got songs about how I work out a lot, I got songs about winning championships. My workout song is real crazy, it’s on the internet too, it’s a real song so it’s not like it’s about doing dumbbells and bench presses, it’s kinda hard, it’s a hard song, it’s about what I do. I’m staying in my lane, I’m not trying to be somebody else. That’s why people like “Champions”, because it was a real record.

Bossip: Anything else you would like to share???

Ron Artest: I have a new artist from China, her name is Shin Shin. She’s a R&B soul artist and when you see her, she looks like she’s a pop artist. I’m looking forward to people hearing her music, she does R&B soul. My album drops in August and it’s actually a group album. The group is called World Wide Warriors, we’ve been a group for 10 years. Also in October, I’m doing a contest on Twitter. When I get my Championship ring, I’m giving one to my wife and one to a fan.
