In an interview with the BBC's Bob McKenzie in 1964, Dr. Martin Luther King actually predicted a black president by 1979. This was in response to a question put to him over whether it would happen in 40 years--the prediction of Bobby Kennedy.

More accurately King DID predict the presidential run of Jessie Jackson in 1988, despite the record of King's bad relationship with Jackson. Still, the values that Jackson presented as a justice and human rights platform during his campaign, especially as they relate to the self interest of Blacks, stand out compared to Obama's lack of commitment.
King promoted peace, redistribution of wealth, and a reordering of capitalism. Obama is for escalating militarism, is financed by the wealth sector, and has assured capitalists that they can trust his stewardship.
